NAS-IT and Nepal Open University held a curriculum review session for the Industry-Integrated Degree initiative to align IT education with Nepal's industry needs.
The Industry-Integrated Degree (IID) initiative under the Nepal Association for Software and IT Services Companies (NAS-IT) held a curriculum review session focused on reviewing and refining the programme’s course structure and learning materials.
The session brought together academic and industry experts to review the proposed course content, structure, learning outcomes, and delivery approach. Discussions focused on ensuring that the curriculum is practical, relevant, industry-oriented, and aligned with the skills and knowledge required in the workplace.
Participants provided feedback and recommendations on the course content and learning materials, with discussions aimed at strengthening the connection between academic learning and real-world industry requirements.
The session included Manoj Ghimire, Founder of Rara Labs; Deepen Chapagain, Country Director at GuardSix; Dr. Bhoj Raj Ghimire, Acting Dean of Nepal Open University; Abhaya Poudel, Co-Founder of Gokyo Labs; Punit Jajodia, Founder, Parewa Labs; Soniya Shrestha, NAS-IT; and Srijan Shrestha, NAS-IT.
The feedback and recommendations from the session will support the further refinement and finalization of the IID academic framework and learning materials.
The curriculum review marks an important step toward developing a practical, industry-integrated learning model that connects education with real-world industry needs and the evolving requirements of Nepal’s IT sector.
The Industry-Integrated Degree (IID) is an initiative of NAS-IT in collaboration with Nepal Open University (NOU), supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) through the technical assistance of Swisscontact.
